Lead Material and Corrosion Engineer

About the role

Wood is seeking a Lead Material and Corrosion Engineer for the ADNOC Offshore US LTPD project in Abu Dhabi. The role provides technical expertise in material selection, corrosion control, and integrity management, ensuring compliance with international and ADNOC standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee material selection, corrosion control, and integrity management across the project.
• Conduct RBI assessments, audit EPC contractor deliverables, and manage cathodic protection and coating systems.
• Prepare and review Material Selection Diagrams, Material Selection Reports, and piping material specifications.
• Develop Corrosion Management Plans, Integrity Operating Windows, and perform corrosion modeling using ECE software.
• Review and approve technical bid evaluations, non‑material requirements, and ensure compliance with API, ASME, BS 7910, DNV and ADNOC standards.
• Lead risk assessment workshops (HAZOP/HAZID), troubleshoot site‑specific corrosion issues, and provide technical assistance during installation, pre‑commissioning and commissioning.
• Coordinate technical reviews, layout, model and design reviews, and support multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 15 + years of experience in oil and gas material and corrosion engineering.
• Proven experience with RBI, cathodic protection, coatings, and integrity management.
• Ability to work closely with EPC contractors, project managers and internal technical departments.
