Lead Operations Readiness & Assurance Engineer

About the role

Wood is seeking an experienced Lead Operations Readiness & Assurance Engineer to guarantee that all facilities, systems, personnel, and processes are fully prepared for safe, efficient, and reliable start‑up and ongoing operations for a high‑profile client in the energy sector.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and lead the Operations Readiness and Assurance (OR&A) activities across multiple disciplines.
• Validate that all design, construction, and commissioning deliverables meet client and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and execute detailed start‑up plans, checklists, and risk assessments.
• Collaborate with project teams, contractors, and client representatives to resolve readiness gaps.
• Monitor performance metrics and provide assurance reporting to senior management.

Required profile

• Proven experience in leading OR&A for large‑scale oil, gas or energy projects.
• Strong understanding of safety, reliability and regulatory standards in the upstream/midstream sector.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and deliver results on tight schedules.

Required skills

• Operations readiness and assurance methodologies.

• Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., API, ISO).
