Lead Piping Engineer

About the role

Worley is seeking a Lead Piping Engineer to join its Abu Dhabi team. You will be responsible for overseeing the mechanical (piping) engineering scope of large‑scale energy and resources projects, ensuring design quality, safety, and compliance with client and licensor requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Champion project safety culture and engage in safety activities.
• Identify, evaluate, and resolve complex piping engineering issues.
• Review and approve contractor deliverables, including equipment design, system layouts, material testing, specifications, calculations, drawings, and vendor data.
• Attend technical meetings with owners, licensors, contractors, and vendors, and participate in design reviews, 3D model reviews, constructability, SIL, EIA, HAZOP, and HAZID sessions.
• Supervise the EPC contractor’s mechanical piping design, ensuring compliance with codes, standards, and best practices.
• Coordinate engineering input for design option analysis and business model development.

Required profile

• Proven experience in leading piping engineering on large industrial projects.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design codes, licensor PDPs, and industry standards.
• Ability to manage multidisciplinary reviews and provide clear technical guidance.
