Lead Piping Engineer – Offshore Subsea Project

About the role

KBR is expanding its Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team for a high‑profile offshore development in Abu Dhabi. The Lead Piping Engineer will direct all piping engineering activities for ADNOC offshore projects throughout FEED, detailed engineering, EPC, brownfield modifications and offshore facility upgrades.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the offshore piping engineering team, reviewing design philosophies, layouts, routing studies and engineering deliverables.
• Ensure compliance with ADNOC Offshore Engineering Standards, international codes and project specifications.
• Review and approve plot plans, equipment layouts, general arrangement drawings, material specifications, stress analysis reports and material take‑offs.
• Coordinate piping design with process, mechanical, civil, structural, electrical and instrumentation disciplines.
• Plan and monitor engineering activities against project schedules, manage resources and identify risks.
• Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, constructability, design reviews and value‑engineering workshops.
• Provide technical support during construction, offshore hook‑up, commissioning and start‑up, resolving site queries and NCRs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s degree is an advantage).
• 15–20 years of piping engineering experience in oil & gas projects, with at least 5 years in a lead role.
• Extensive experience on ADNOC offshore, UAE offshore or major Middle‑East offshore projects, covering EPC, detailed engineering, brownfield and greenfield facilities.

Required skills

• Codes & standards: ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, Section VIII, API, ASTM, MSS, ISO, ADNOC Offshore Standards.
• Software: AutoCAD, SmartPlant 3D (SP3D), E3D/PDMS, Caesar II, Navisworks, MicroStation (preferred), MS Office Suite.
