Lead Planning Engineer – Construction

About the role

KBR Abu Dhabi is seeking a Lead Planning Engineer for a large‑scale Oil & Gas construction project, initially based in Abu Dhabi and later moving to the Ruwais site. The role involves delivering integrated schedules and controls across engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and start‑up phases.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the planning, scheduling, monitoring, and control of large‑scale Oil & Gas construction projects by developing and maintaining integrated project schedules covering engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and start‑up activities.
• Coordinate with project management, engineering, procurement, construction, and subcontractor teams to establish baselines, monitor progress, perform critical‑path and schedule‑risk analyses, and identify potential delays and mitigation measures.
• Prepare look‑ahead plans, progress reports, S‑curves, manpower histograms, and performance dashboards to ensure accurate progress measurement and forecasting.
• Support project controls through earned‑value analysis, delay analysis, recovery planning, extension‑of‑time claims, and management reporting while complying with client requirements and industry best practices.
• Provide leadership and guidance to planning engineers, ensuring project delivery within approved timelines, budget, and quality standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (mandatory).
• Minimum 5 years experience as a Lead Planning Engineer on Oil & Gas EPC projects, with involvement in mega FEED/EPC projects.
• Overall 20+ years experience executing EPC contracts in the Oil & Gas industry, preferably in gas processing/NGL projects.

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
• PMI Scheduling Professional (PMI‑SP) certification.
• AACE Certified Cost Professional (CCP) certification.
