Lead Project Engineer

About the role

Worley is seeking a Lead Project Engineer to oversee the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) phases of projects in Abu Dhabi. The role involves managing the PMC Engineering group, supervising contractors, and ensuring delivery against contract requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day work allocation and supervision of the PMC Engineering team.
• Oversee contractor performance during Engineering and Procurement phases.
• Lead development and implementation of engineering processes, procedures and systems.
• Ensure the engineering group is correctly resourced with the appropriate disciplines.
• Provide independent project management consultancy, technical advice and risk mitigation.
• Participate in design reviews, ensuring constructability, testability, operability and safety.
• Coordinate technical review and processing of vendor documents and secure owner approvals.
• Interface with piping, mechanical, structural, electrical & instrumentation disciplines.
• Lead customer review meetings and conduct succession planning within the team.
• Implement competence assessments, performance reviews and development opportunities.
• Conduct site visits to demonstrate safety leadership.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong leadership and supervision skills.
• Ability to assess competence and drive performance improvements.
• Experience delivering engineering and procurement work under PMC contracts.
• Excellent communication with clients, contractors and internal stakeholders.
