Lead Static Engineer

About the role

Worley is seeking a Lead Static Engineer to head static equipment engineering activities across FEED, EPC, and detailed engineering phases for major oil & gas and petrochemical projects in Abu Dhabi. The role provides technical leadership, ensures compliance with international codes, and drives cost‑effective solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design, specification, and procurement of static equipment such as pressure vessels, columns, heat exchangers, tanks, separators, filters, reactors and package equipment.
• Develop and review datasheets, specifications, material requisitions, technical bid evaluations and vendor documentation.
• Ensure compliance with ADNOC standards, ASME, API, TEMA and ASTM codes.
• Coordinate with Process, Piping, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Instrumentation and Procurement disciplines for seamless integration.
• Review and approve vendor drawings, calculations, manufacturing procedures and inspection requirements.
• Support constructability reviews, value‑engineering studies and cost optimisation initiatives.
• Participate in design reviews, HAZOP, constructability workshops and technical meetings with clients, vendors and contractors.
• Mentor and supervise a team of Specialists, Senior Engineers and Engineers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent.
• 15+ years of relevant experience in oil & gas or petrochemical industry, including at least 5 years in the GCC region.
• Minimum 5 years in a similar senior role managing multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Proven experience with ADNOC and offshore projects.
