Lead Vendor Engineer – Substation Equipment

About the role

The Lead Vendor Engineer will manage the submission and review of manufacturer drawings for substation equipment, ensuring alignment with client specifications and project schedules. This role bridges the project team, manufacturers, and site execution, providing technical support from pre‑bid engineering through commissioning and warranty periods.

Key responsibilities

• Review and submit manufacturer drawings for substation equipment, addressing client comments and revisions.
• Coordinate delivery schedules to match the overall project timeline.
• Conduct pre‑order offer reviews during tender and execution phases.
• Follow up with manufacturers for drawing submissions and incorporate feedback.
• Validate general arrangement (GA) parameters and coordinate layout changes with vendors.
• Support site teams on queries related to manufactured equipment.
• Prepare and submit engineering calculations, obtain client review comments, and release manufacturing clearance.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of substation equipment, layout, and civil foundation design.
• Experience verifying manufacturer drawings against client specifications.
• Ability to prepare detailed engineering calculations for equipment such as transformers, batteries, chargers, and UPS systems.
• Effective communication with manufacturers and internal project teams.
• Leadership skills to guide a team of engineers and ensure quality deliverables.
