Legal Counsel - Funds (Sovereign Wealth Fund)

About the role

One Ten Associates is recruiting, on behalf of a sovereign wealth fund based in Abu Dhabi, an experienced Funds Lawyer to join its established legal team. You will act as a trusted business adviser to the investment team and senior management, covering fund investments, co-investments and trading-related legal matters.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on fund investments, with a focus on open-ended structures such as hedge funds, alongside closed-ended funds, co-investments and direct investments.
• Review and negotiate fund documentation, side letters, investment management agreements and other fund-related documents.
• Support the investment team through the investment lifecycle, including ongoing fund matters.
• Assist with legal advice on the organisation's governance matters.

Required profile

• 3-8 years' post-qualification experience, having trained at a leading law firm.
• Investment funds legal experience, particularly with open-ended fund structures.
• Experience advising institutional investors such as sovereign wealth funds, asset managers or pension funds, gained in-house or within a law firm's funds practice.
• Strong investor-side experience reviewing and negotiating fund terms and documentation.
