Legal Counsel

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic, detail‑oriented Legal Counsel to join the in‑house legal team of a leading consumer‑goods group headquartered in Abu Dhabi. You will protect the organisation’s legal interests, ensure compliance with local and international regulations, and provide comprehensive legal support across a variety of matters.

Key responsibilities

• Review, negotiate and draft contracts, agreements, policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders during negotiations with external partners.
• Provide legal advice on employment law, intellectual property, litigation and regulatory issues under the guidance of the General Counsel.
• Conduct legal research, analyse issues and deliver actionable insights to senior stakeholders.
• Assist in dispute resolution through mediation, settlement discussions or litigation support.
• Advise on compliance, conduct risk assessments and develop compliance frameworks.
• Coordinate with external counsel and support the development of legal policies with HR, Finance and other departments.
• Deliver training sessions on legal obligations and respond to claims as directed.
• Undertake special projects and ad‑hoc assignments as required.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of legal experience in a top‑tier law firm or a listed company’s legal department.
• Law degree from a reputable institution, strong academic record and a valid licence to practise law.
• Fluent Arabic speaker; prior FMCG experience is a plus.
• Middle‑East experience with solid knowledge of regional laws and regulations.
• Proven expertise in commercial, corporate, IP, product liability, employment and international trade/competition law.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
