Legal Counsel

About the role

Provide legal advice and services focusing on commercial and operational matters for ADNOC, drafting and reviewing agreements while ensuring compliance with laws and safeguarding the group's interests.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal counsel to PT&CS, TEO and Business Line Directorates on commercial and operational agreements, projects and transactions.
• Instruct, supervise and monitor external legal counsel, managing performance, legal spend and budgets.
• Draft, review and amend legal opinions, agreements and documents to reflect ADNOC’s risk appetite and regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of business unit policies, processes, standards and internal controls.
• Support stakeholder management, risk management and reporting activities across the Legal Commercial & Operations unit.

Required profile

• Relevant experience providing legal advice on commercial and operational matters.
• Experience managing external legal counsel and overseeing legal budgets.

Required skills

• Knowledge of applicable legislations and regulations.
• Legal advice expertise.
• Knowledge of business and international best practices.
