Lifting Engineer / Appointed Person (AP) – UAE Oil & Gas

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Lifting Engineer / Appointed Person (AP) to join our oil & gas project team in the UAE. You will be responsible for planning, supervising and ensuring the safe execution of routine, heavy and critical lifting operations in line with ADNOC and international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organise and coordinate all lifting activities with project teams and subcontractors.
• Prepare and review lifting plans, method statements, risk assessments and job safety analyses.
• Conduct rigging studies, crane selection, load calculations and interpret crane load charts.
• Approve heavy and critical lifts, including multi‑crane operations.
• Develop transport route studies, loading/unloading drawings and AutoCAD‑based lifting plans.
• Inspect lifting equipment, verify certifications and manage periodic renewals.
• Deliver safety awareness programmes and support competency development.
• Provide technical guidance on crane operations, rigging methods and heavy‑lift execution.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 7 years of lifting experience in oil & gas projects (offshore and onshore).
• At least 5 years as an Appointed Person for lifting operations.
• Proven track record in heavy, critical and multi‑crane lifts.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and leadership abilities.
