Lifting Engineer (Appointed Person)

About the role

Archirodon Group seeks an experienced Lifting Engineer to act as the Appointed Person for on‑shore and off‑shore lifting operations in the oil & gas sector. The role involves supervising complex lifting activities, ensuring compliance with international standards and local legislation, and supporting safe execution of critical lifts.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and manage site lifting operations, maintenance, inspection and load testing for a wide range of lifting equipment.
• Prepare lifting plans, method statements, risk assessments and job safety analysis for critical lifts.
• Ensure HSE policies are followed and that contractors comply with rigging and lifting procedures.
• Verify competency of the lifting team (Appointed Person, Supervisor, Crane Operator, Rigger/Banksman).
• Attend client and internal meetings to discuss rigging issues and provide technical guidance.
• Manage contracts for third‑party lifting equipment inspection and certification.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience supervising site lifting operations, with at least 5 years hands‑on maintenance, inspection and load testing.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent professional qualification.
• LEEA accredited training for Lifting Operations / Appointed Person.
• Proficient English and strong knowledge of international lifting standards and local UAE legislation.
• Oil & gas sector experience; ADNOC approval as Lifting Appointed Person preferred.

• Pedestal, gantry, mobile and crawler cranes; runway beams; fork lifts; winches; electric hoists; pull lifts; chain blocks.
• Wire rope, webbing and chain slings; shackles; eye bolts; lifeboat davits; container/basket lifting gear.
• Load testing, certification, troubleshooting and auditing of lifting equipment.
• Lifting plan preparation, method statements, risk assessments and job safety analyses.
• Competency verification of lifting team members and contract management of third‑party inspections.
