Litigation Associate

About the role

We are looking for a senior Litigation Associate to manage complex commercial disputes in UAE on‑shore courts. The role involves end‑to‑end case ownership, direct client interaction, and close collaboration with the firm’s licensed advocates.

Key responsibilities

• Run a caseload of commercial and civil disputes from instruction through judgment and enforcement, under partner supervision.
• Draft memoranda of claim, defence, pleadings, submissions, and expert‑response memoranda in Arabic to meet UAE court standards.
• Develop case strategy, prepare evidence bundles, and coordinate with licensed advocates for court appearances.
• Manage court‑appointed expert proceedings, including drafting submissions and challenging expert reports.
• Advise clients on prospects, strategy, costs, and settlement options, translating legal analysis into commercial recommendations.
• Handle enforcement of judgments, including execution proceedings and recognition of foreign judgments or arbitral awards.
• Support business development and maintain client relationships.

Required profile

• Law degree and qualification to practise, with at least 5 years post‑qualification experience in UAE on‑shore litigation.
• Fluent Arabic with proven legal drafting ability in Arabic – essential for the role.
• Strong working knowledge of UAE Civil Transactions Law (Federal Law No. 5 of 1985), Civil Procedure Law (Federal Decree‑Law No. 42 of 2022), Law of Evidence (Federal Decree‑Law No. 35 of 2022), and Commercial Transactions Law.
• Demonstrated track record of running on‑shore matters with limited supervision.
• Experience managing court‑appointed expert stages and enforcement proceedings.
• Professional English for client‑facing work and reporting to international clients.
