Logistics Executive – Import & Export

About the role

The Logistics Executive will manage end‑to‑end import and export shipments, ensuring timely movement of raw materials, components, machinery and finished products. The role requires close coordination with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs authorities and internal departments to maintain accurate documentation and cost control.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate import, export and cross‑trade shipments by sea, air and road from supplier readiness through freight booking, customs clearance, delivery and final documentation.
• Obtain and compare freight quotations, supporting the selection of cost‑effective shipping options.
• Prepare and handle shipping and customs documents such as Bill of Entry, Certificate of Origin, Bill of Lading, Commercial Invoice, Packing List, HS Codes and LC‑related paperwork.
• Use Dubai Trade, Dubai Customs, Jebel Ali Port and other logistics portals to track shipments and provide regular updates on ETD, ETA, clearance and delivery status.
• Ensure adherence to shipping‑line and port cut‑off dates to avoid demurrage, detention and storage charges.
• Coordinate incoming raw materials with Procurement, PPC, Stores, Production and Finance based on production priorities.
• Coordinate export shipments of finished products with Sales/PPC and customers to meet delivery schedules.
• Review freight invoices and logistics‑related charges, liaising with Finance for timely processing.
• Maintain accurate shipment records, freight cost data, customs documentation and logistics MIS.
• Identify cost‑reduction opportunities and support logistics optimisation initiatives.
• Work with warehouses and 3PL providers to manage inventory movement and deliveries.
• Proactively resolve logistics and documentation issues to minimise production and customer‑delivery disruptions.
