Luxury Clothing Patternmaker & Sample Machinist

About the role

House of Narma is looking for an experienced Pattern Maker and Sample Machinist to join its Dubai atelier. The role demands a refined technical sensibility and deep knowledge of luxury garment construction, turning complex design concepts into precise, balanced patterns.

Key responsibilities

• Develop accurate manual patterns for womenswear and menswear from sketches or draped forms.
• Produce toiles and samples with couture‑level precision and finishing.
• Perform pattern grading and size development while maintaining proportion across the range.
• Lead fittings, make technical adjustments quickly and accurately.
• Collaborate closely with designers to ensure creative integrity and technical feasibility.
• Maintain an organized archive of patterns, samples, and fit notes.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in luxury or designer ateliers (RTW and couture).
• Expertise in manual pattern cutting, draping, grading, and fitting for varied silhouettes.
• Strong understanding of fabric behaviour, finishing techniques, and construction standards.
• Ability to interpret sketches independently with minimal guidance.
• Fluent English; Arabic knowledge is a plus.
• Collaborative, solution‑oriented, and able to meet demanding timelines while preserving exceptional quality.
