Manager Planning - Aircraft Maintenance

About the role

Etihad Airways is seeking a senior leader to head its Maintenance Planning department. The role ensures that all commitments to service providers, staff and regulatory authorities are delivered efficiently and in line with national airworthiness regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Maintenance Planning team and develop consistent procedures to meet KPI dashboards and regulatory requirements.
• Establish internal processes and interfaces that support departmental objectives and assist other functions.
• Manage the annual maintenance budget and monitor cost performance.
• Review workforce performance using Etihad appraisal systems and implement development actions.
• Coordinate with internal and external departments, including network scheduling, to create maintenance slots.
• Represent the Planning department in meetings, track actions and follow‑up.
• Oversee the full life‑cycle of each maintenance project, from pre‑input meetings to wash‑up for A‑checks and higher.
• Investigate and remediate quality lapses and ensure CAMO compliance through audits.

Required profile

• Technical academic degree or HND in Aeronautical Engineering, or an ICAO Type I or Type II licence.
• Minimum seven years of operational experience in aircraft maintenance planning.
• Proven management or supervisory experience in an MRO or aviation environment.
• Up‑to‑date knowledge of airworthiness and health‑and‑safety legislation.
• Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement and deliver results.
