Managing Director – UAE Logistics Business

About the role

We are looking for a dynamic Managing Director to lead Bertling’s UAE operations, covering Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The role is responsible for driving sustainable profitability, operational excellence and disciplined commercial growth across air‑freight, ocean‑freight, project cargo and related services.

Key responsibilities

• Own the UAE P&L, including budget, gross profit, overhead, working capital and cash collection.
• Develop and execute an annual business plan with clear customer, product and profitability targets.
• Convert quotation activity and project pipeline into recurring gross profit, improving earnings quality.
• Maintain pricing and margin discipline while managing customer credit, supplier commitments and aged receivables.
• Lead the end‑to‑end enquiry‑to‑award process, measuring conversion rates and implementing corrective actions.
• Coach and support the sales team, driving growth in energy, EPC, industrial and infrastructure accounts.
• Strengthen the vendor platform across air‑freight, ocean‑freight, road transport, chartering, customs, warehousing and specialist handling.
• Collaborate with the regional director, Group CEO and global product leaders to align strategy.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in logistics, freight forwarding or related transport services.
• Strong commercial acumen with a track record of delivering profitable growth.
• Excellent financial management skills, including P&L responsibility.
• Ability to build and nurture strategic customer relationships in the UAE market.
• Effective communication and negotiation skills with senior stakeholders.
