Marine HR Crewing Specialist

About the role

The Marine HR Crewing Specialist is responsible for recruiting, deploying and supporting licensed marine personnel for McDermott's fleet operating out of Dubai. This role ensures crew schedules, training, compliance and welfare are managed efficiently, acting as the primary liaison between crew members and management.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit licensed marine crew in accordance with government‑mandated minimum safe manning requirements.
• Manage crew deployments, rotations and scheduling across the fleet.
• Plan and coordinate crew training, including re‑validation of qualifications such as SOLAS and STCW95.
• Maintain physical or digital employee files and ensure accurate HR system updates.
• Prepare and submit tickets for HR data changes, salary adjustments, promotions and payroll claims.
• Act as the point of contact for employee queries on payroll, timesheets and general HR matters.
• Generate offer letters, verification of employment, salary and promotion documents.
• Coordinate onboarding and off‑boarding processes, including orientation sessions and exit interviews.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in maritime studies, human resources, business administration or a related field.
• Relevant certification or licence in crewing management, maritime law or a comparable discipline.
• Proven experience in recruiting and managing licensed marine personnel.
• Strong knowledge of maritime regulations, particularly SOLAS and STCW95.
• Ability to handle HR administrative processes and maintain accurate records.

Required skills

• Familiarity with SOLAS and STCW95 regulatory requirements.
• Experience using HR information systems for data updates and payroll processing.
