Maritime Lawyer

About the role

Our client, a leading maritime and shipping company, is looking for a Maritime Lawyer to join its legal team. The role focuses on international maritime law, ship purchase and sale transactions, chartering matters, contract drafting, claims management and dispute resolution in a dynamic global environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and advise on ship purchase and sale transactions, including legal due diligence, contract negotiation and completion.
• Draft, review and negotiate charterparty agreements, commercial contracts and maritime service agreements.
• Handle maritime claims such as cargo disputes, vessel incidents, charterparty claims and insurance matters.
• Lead dispute resolution through negotiation, arbitration, mediation and provide litigation support when required.
• Provide legal advice on international maritime regulations, compliance requirements and commercial risk management.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with experience in Maritime Law, International Commercial Law or Admiralty Law, gained in a law firm, shipping company, P&I Club or similar organisation.
• Fluent in English and Russian with strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills in an international business environment.
