Marketing Communications Coordinator

About the role

The Marketing Communications Coordinator will support American University in Dubai’s (AUD) communication and marketing initiatives. Working closely with the Marketing Communications Manager, the role helps shape the university’s image and increase brand awareness across global and regional audiences.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and execute communications activities in media relations, event management, promotional campaigns, digital platforms and publications.
• Generate innovative marketing communication ideas that align with AUD’s strategic goals.
• Maintain and monitor print, audiovisual and online coverage, ensuring all AUD activities are recorded and archived.
• Update and manage databases of media contacts, alumni, potential sponsors, advisory board members and VIPs.
• Cultivate relationships with broadcast, print and online media at local, regional and international levels to secure coverage.
• Prepare, write and distribute press releases on a regular schedule.
• Identify and manage advertising opportunities and coordinate media interview requests.
• Support miscellaneous duties assigned by the Marketing Communications Manager.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a recognized university.
• Background in public relations, marketing communications or a related field.
• Proven ability to manage media and stakeholder relationships.
• Familiarity with the UAE/Gulf business environment.
• Strong professional references.
• Fluency in Arabic (reading, writing and speaking).

Required skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to translate concepts into clear messages.
• Understanding of various marketing and communications mediums including print, video, web and social media.
• Creative thinking and ability to generate compelling ideas.
• Self‑motivated, deadline‑oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Team player with minimal supervision.
