Material Engineer – Civil

About the role

Azizi Developments is seeking a Material Engineer – Civil to oversee material selection, quality control and testing for its Dubai property portfolio. The role ensures that concrete, steel, finishing materials and other civil components meet project specifications, municipal codes and sustainability targets.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise quality assurance, sampling and laboratory testing for civil construction materials.
• Review, evaluate and approve material submittals, technical data sheets and compliance documents.
• Enforce adherence to design specifications, Dubai Municipality codes and international engineering standards.
• Collaborate with design, procurement and project engineering teams to identify cost‑effective and sustainable material alternatives.
• Conduct site inspections and supplier audits to verify material quality, storage conditions and batching plant standards.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of material approvals, test reports, NCRs and third‑party certifications.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in material engineering within contracting or consultancy firms.
• Direct experience with high‑rise residential, hospitality or mixed‑use projects in Dubai.
• Strong knowledge of ASTM, BS and ISO testing standards, concrete technology, soil testing and structural steel parameters.
• Proven ability in quality assurance, vendor compliance auditing and technical documentation.
