Material Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Material Engineer to support construction and interior fit‑out projects in Dubai. The role involves managing material approvals, coordinating with suppliers and project teams, and ensuring all materials meet quality and project standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review project drawings, specifications, BOQs and material requirements.
• Identify and recommend suitable construction and fit‑out materials.
• Prepare and submit material submittals for consultant/client approval.
• Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturers to obtain data sheets, samples and certificates.
• Verify that materials comply with project specifications, approved standards and consultant requirements.
• Follow up on approvals, maintain records and material registers.
• Work with procurement, engineering and site teams to ensure timely material availability.
• Inspect delivered materials against approved samples and specifications.
• Manage non‑conforming material issues and corrective actions.
• Evaluate alternative materials and provide technical recommendations.
• Assist project teams with material‑related technical queries.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, Construction Engineering or a related field.
• 3–7 years of material engineering or material management experience in construction, interior fit‑out or contracting.
• Strong knowledge of civil, architectural, finishing, MEP‑related and specialty materials.
• Proven experience preparing and managing material submittals and approvals.
• Good understanding of project specifications, drawings, BOQs and technical documentation.
• Experience interacting with consultants, suppliers, manufacturers and site teams.
• Familiarity with material quality standards and compliance requirements.
