Materials Engineer – Infrastructure

About the role

Parsons is seeking a Materials Engineer to support infrastructure projects in Dubai. The role involves monitoring, inspecting, and coordinating all project materials to ensure compliance with contract specifications and standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review contractor material submittals and obtain approvals according to project specifications.
• Serve as the focal point for scheduling and controlling construction materials and equipment on site.
• Conduct inspections to verify work complies with contract requirements.
• Coordinate sub‑consultants for material testing and maintain related documentation.
• Prepare daily reports, diaries, and other required project documentation.
• Verify that only approved materials are used and manage certificates of compliance, MSDS, and inspection tags.
• Identify potential material conflicts, report issues, and propose solutions.
• Support safety and quality control reporting and assist in developing related procedures.

Required profile

• B.Sc. in Civil, Geology, Materials Engineering or an equivalent discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of experience on infrastructure projects, with at least 5 years in the UAE/GCC on roads, bridges or tunnels.
• Proven experience reviewing material submittals and conducting on‑site inspections.
• Ability to perform engineering calculations, prepare graphs and charts.
