Mechanical & Electrical Maintenance Technician – Food Production

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to ensure safe, reliable and efficient operation of production equipment and facility systems within a chocolate manufacturing environment in the UAE. The role involves preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems in a food production setting.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and basic automation-related issues.
• Maintain production and packaging equipment, including mixers, melters, conveyors, pumps, cooling systems and packaging machines.
• Conduct inspections, servicing, adjustments and component replacements.
• Support PLC, sensors, motors, drives and electrical control troubleshooting within the required competency.
• Follow GMP, HACCP, food safety and HSE requirements.
• Apply Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and other applicable safety procedures.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders and breakdown reports.
• Identify recurring equipment failures and support root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Diploma, ITI or technical qualification in mechanical, electrical, mechatronics or a related field.
• 2–4 years of relevant maintenance experience, preferably within food manufacturing, FMCG, chocolate, confectionery, bakery or a similar industry.
• Experience with automated production and packaging equipment is an advantage.
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, pneumatic/hydraulic systems, motors, pumps, bearings, gearboxes and conveyors.
• Basic PLC and automation troubleshooting knowledge is an advantage.
• Good understanding of machine safety, LOTO and food manufacturing requirements.
• Good communication, documentation and problem‑solving skills.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and overtime when required.
