Mechanical Engineer – Site Supervision

About the role

The Mechanical Engineer (Supervision) is responsible for overseeing all mechanical works on‑site, ensuring they meet contract specifications, quality standards, and project timelines. The role reports directly to the Project Manager and MEP Section Manager and works closely with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee mechanical works in line with contract documents, including design verification, inspections, material approvals, and shop drawing reviews.
• Ensure quality control and request technical support from Head Engineers when needed.
• Attend, approve, and sign off testing and commissioning activities for all mechanical systems.
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, providing technical input on design scope and project requirements.
• Prepare technical and financial reports, submit progress updates, and document lessons learned.
• Maintain full understanding of project scope, timelines, cost, and quality benchmarks while adhering to company policies.
• Provide expert advice on mechanical systems, resolve site‑related technical issues, and recommend changes or variations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering supervision, preferably within an engineering consultancy in the UAE.
• Experience in direct client engagement and immediate availability is preferred.
• Must meet all listed specifications.

Required skills

• Proficiency in technical reviews: shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, authority drawings.
• Expertise in HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and overall mechanical systems.
• Solid knowledge of UAE codes and standards.
• Project experience with mid‑ to high‑rise buildings, warehouses, and schools.
• Skilled in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office.
• Fluent English (mandatory).
