Mechanical Estimator

About the role

Archirodon, a leading international EPC contractor, is seeking a Mechanical Estimator to join its Tendering Team in Dubai. You will support the preparation of competitive bids for complex oil & gas, refinery and petrochemical projects.

Key responsibilities

• Study and review Invitation to Tender (ITT), technical specifications, scope of work, P&IDs, plot plans, layouts, and project drawings.
• Identify mechanical and piping scope boundaries, exclusions, and risks within the tender documents.
• Prepare tender clarifications and technical queries where required.
• Verify quantities against engineering drawings, isometrics, and specifications.
• Develop detailed cost estimates for mechanical and piping installation, including equipment installation, piping fabrication and erection, valves and specialty items, structural and pipe supports, hydro‑testing, flushing, and mechanical completion activities.
• Prepare labour productivity calculations, manpower requirements, and equipment resources.
• Develop unit rates, cost build‑ups, and construction cost models based on historical data and project requirements.
• Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors; maintain estimation databases, productivity norms, and cost benchmarks; capture lessons learned and historical project data.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5–7 years of experience in EPC Oil & Gas / Refinery / Petrochemical projects.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment installation and piping fabrication/erection.
• Experience in cost estimation, quantity take‑off, and BOQ preparation.
• Ability to read and interpret equipment lists, P&IDs, piping isometrics, GA drawings, and equipment layouts.
