Mechanical Helper

About the role

The Mechanical Helper will support mechanical technicians on oil and gas construction projects, assisting with installation, maintenance and repair tasks on site.

Key responsibilities

• Assist mechanical technicians with installation, maintenance and repair of equipment, including fitting, welding, piping and equipment alignment.
• Clean and prepare work areas, removing debris and hazardous materials.
• Handle, organize and transport mechanical tools, materials and equipment on‑site.
• Perform basic tasks such as measuring, cutting and bending conduit and cable trays.
• Support cable tray installation, secure covers and maintain organized cable management systems.
• Load and unload materials and tools as required by construction schedules.
• Follow supervisor instructions and collaborate with electricians and other crew members to complete tasks on time.
• Adhere to safety standards, use personal protective equipment and follow safety protocols.

Required profile

• Minimum 1–2 years experience in a similar role, preferably on oil and gas construction projects.
• Basic understanding of electrical systems, tools and materials, with familiarity in cable tray installation.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy items, climbing ladders and working in confined spaces.
• High school diploma or relevant technical training preferred.
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and on high platforms.
