Mechanical Inspector

About the role

The Mechanical Inspector will ensure that all site activities align with design specifications and protect existing structures, utilities, and landscaping. This role involves daily inspections, documentation, and coordination with contractors to guarantee compliance and safety throughout the construction phase.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct pre‑construction site inspections to verify conditions match design requirements and document any obstructions.
• Photograph and record existing property conditions that may be impacted by construction activities.
• Review delivered materials for compliance with approved samples, specifications, and equipment, reporting any non‑conformities.
• Inspect permanent works to ensure they meet contract documents, approved shop drawings, and submittals.
• Maintain detailed daily logs and reports in line with the Contract Administration Procedures Manual.
• Monitor site safety practices, report concerns, and support the preparation of punch lists for completed works.
• Assist in system start‑up, testing, commissioning, and handover processes.

Required profile

• Minimum of 7–10 years of experience in a similar mechanical inspection role.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Solid knowledge of building construction, materials, systems, and industry trade practices.
• Proficiency with relevant computer applications.
• Ability to work independently, adapt to changing environments, and manage multiple tasks effectively.
