Mechanical Inspector

About the role

The Mechanical Inspector will oversee and inspect mechanical installation works on construction projects in Abu Dhabi, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, specifications, codes, and quality standards. This role involves close coordination with contractors, subcontractors, and engineering teams to maintain high standards of workmanship and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect mechanical installations including HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, piping, and equipment against drawings, specifications, and codes.
• Monitor contractor and subcontractor work for compliance with approved materials and workmanship.
• Conduct inspections, witness testing, commissioning, and performance testing activities.
• Identify defects and non‑conforming work, and ensure corrective actions are taken.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, observations, testing activities, and site progress.
• Coordinate with engineers and other disciplines to resolve technical queries and site issues.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in mechanical inspection, construction supervision, or quality control.
• Experience on large‑scale commercial, residential, infrastructure, or industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical building services, HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and equipment installations.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and shop drawings.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify defects.
