Mechanical Project Engineer

About the role

Al-Futtaim is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to act as the client’s MEP representative on assigned projects in Dubai. You will review mechanical design drawings, manage consultants, and oversee all electro‑mechanical activities on site from design through handover.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design reviews, obtain authority approvals, and coordinate contractor activities on site.
• Inspect and validate consultant reports, ensuring compliance with quality standards and technical specifications.
• Assist the commercial manager with technical evaluation of fee proposals and supplier quotes.
• Analyze design changes for cost, quality, and compliance impacts and present findings to the project team.
• Supervise construction‑phase mechanical works, oversee testing and commissioning, and facilitate smooth handover to the end‑user.

Required profile

• Extensive knowledge of DEWA, DCD, DM regulations and international standards such as NFPA, ASHRAE, ANSI, SMACNA, ASTM, CIBSE, and LEED.
• Strong background in HVAC design, including heat‑load calculations (HAP), duct sizing, hydraulic calculations, firefighting and LPG systems.
• Experience acting as a client representative on MEP projects is highly preferred.
