Mechanical Site Engineer (Construction Supervision)

About the role

We are looking for a Mechanical Site Engineer to supervise and inspect mechanical works on construction projects in Dubai. The role ensures that all mechanical installations – HVAC, plumbing, drainage, LPG and fire protection – are executed in line with contract documents, approved drawings and local authority regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and inspect mechanical works, including HVAC, plumbing, drainage, LPG, and fire protection systems.
• Monitor contractor performance to ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards and approved methodologies.
• Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, method statements and technical submissions.
• Conduct site inspections, witness testing and commissioning of mechanical systems.
• Approve Inspection Requests (IRs), Material Inspection Requests (MIRs) and Testing & Commissioning requests.
• Coordinate with Resident Engineer, Project Manager, architects, structural engineers and other MEP disciplines to resolve technical issues.
• Ensure compliance with Dubai Municipality, Dubai Civil Defence, DEWA and other authority requirements.
• Monitor progress, report delays, non‑conformances and quality issues; issue Site Instructions, NCRs and Site Observation Reports.
• Attend progress and coordination meetings, certify completed works and verify as‑built drawings, O&M manuals and close‑out documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5‑7 years of mechanical site supervision experience, preferably with a UAE engineering consultancy.
• Experience on residential, commercial, healthcare, hospitality or mixed‑use projects.
• Knowledge of UAE construction practices and local authority regulations.
• Valid driver’s licence.
