Medical Coder

About the role

The Medical Coder will review clinical information for patient episodes and assign accurate coding using established standards. This role supports both inpatient and outpatient services, ensuring proper documentation and reimbursement for Fakeeh Health facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Utilize coding systems such as ICD‑10, ACHI and SNOMED CT to assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes.
• Interact with physicians and medical staff to clarify documentation when needed.
• Enter coded information promptly into the disease, service and procedure database.
• Verify all factors required for correct DRG assignment and proper ranking of diagnoses.
• Act as a resource for other departments on coding‑related queries.
• Assist in preparing statistical and specialized reports on patients, diseases, treatments and procedures.

Required profile

• Experience reviewing clinical documentation and assigning medical codes.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight turnaround times.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with clinicians.
