Medical Lab Technologist – Special Chemistry & Functional Medicine

About the role

The Medical Laboratory Technologist – Special Chemistry & Functional Medicine performs moderate to high‑complexity laboratory testing to support accurate diagnosis, treatment monitoring, and personalized healthcare. The role covers pre‑analytical, analytical and post‑analytical activities while ensuring compliance with DHA, CAP, and JCI standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform specialized chemistry, endocrine, metabolic, immunoassay, therapeutic drug monitoring, trace element, and toxicology testing using validated methods.
• Assess specimen acceptability, reject or escalate unsuitable samples, and document pre‑analytical conditions.
• Operate, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot specialized analyzers and equipment.
• Verify analytical results, evaluate quality indicators, and escalate critical or discrepant findings.
• Maintain accurate records in the Laboratory Information System, including instrument performance and reagent inventory.
• Participate in validation of new assays, reference intervals, and methodology changes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related discipline.
• Current DHA license/eligibility and professional registration where applicable.
• Minimum three years of recent experience in clinical chemistry or a comparable high‑complexity laboratory section.
