Occupational Therapist – Rehabilitation

About the role

The Royal Khalifa City Hospital in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment for patients of all ages across speech, language, cognitive‑communicative, voice, and swallowing disorders, as well as specialist rehabilitation services in both hospital and home‑care settings.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct assessments and deliver evidence‑based, client‑centered occupational therapy interventions for adult and paediatric patients.
• Manage a caseload of complex cases autonomously, developing and evaluating individualized treatment plans.
• Provide clinical governance, service development, and prioritize service delivery in collaboration with line management.
• Supervise and appraise less‑experienced therapists, ensuring performance standards are met.
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team, communicating effectively with staff, health professionals, patients, and families.
• Participate in education programs, continuing professional development, and safety initiatives.
• Document and report adverse clinical events and contribute to risk‑assessment and equipment adaptation processes.

Required profile

• Registered Occupational Therapist licensed by the Health Authority Abu Dhabi (HAAD).
• Demonstrated senior‑level clinical reasoning, problem‑solving, and independent judgment.
• Experience managing complex caseloads in both acute and home‑care rehabilitation settings.
• Ability to supervise and mentor junior therapists.
• Commitment to ongoing professional education and adherence to ethical standards.
