Operating Room Nurse

About the role

The Operating Room Nurse provides safe, professional, and compassionate nursing care to patients throughout surgical procedures. Working in a fast‑paced environment, the nurse ensures aseptic technique, assists the surgical team, and supports patient recovery.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room, instruments, equipment, and supplies before each procedure.
• Assist surgeons and physicians during surgical and minor procedures, performing Scrub Nurse and/or Circulating Nurse duties as required.
• Maintain strict aseptic and sterile techniques throughout surgeries.
• Monitor patients' vital signs and clinical condition before, during, and after procedures.
• Handle specimen collection, labeling, and proper documentation.
• Support dermatology, aesthetic, regenerative medicine, and day‑surgery procedures.
• Perform IV cannulation, IV therapy, phlebotomy, medication administration, and wound care.
• Ensure accurate counting and documentation of surgical instruments and materials.
• Maintain infection‑prevention standards in line with DHA regulations and international standards.
• Assist with post‑operative monitoring, recovery, discharge preparation, and patient education.
• Participate in quality improvement, infection control, clinical audits, and continuing professional development.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSc Nursing) or equivalent – mandatory.
• Valid DHA Registered Nurse License – mandatory.
• BLS certification – mandatory; ACLS certification – advantage.
• Minimum 5 years of professional nursing experience; at least 3 years in an operating room – preferred.
• Previous experience as a Scrub Nurse and/or Circulating Nurse – highly preferred.
• Experience in hospitals, day‑surgery centers, or specialty clinics; experience in dermatology, aesthetic medicine, or regenerative procedures – advantage.
