About the role

The Outpatient Coding Officer will navigate patient health records and assign accurate diagnoses and procedure codes for routine outpatient and emergency department visits, ensuring compliance with UAE coding regulations.

Key responsibilities

Navigate patient health records and assign appropriate ICD-10-CM and CPT codes for outpatient and emergency department records.
Validate charges against documentation, apply modifiers, and use retrospective edit tools to resolve coding issues.
Collaborate with CDI, physicians, revenue cycle teams, and investigate claim denials.
Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of UAE coding and reimbursement regulations and ensure compliance.

Required profile

Extensive knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle systems.
Ability to analyze physician documentation in routine outpatient health records to determine diagnoses and procedures.
Certification such as CPC or AHIMA.

Required skills

Proficiency with encoder software and online coding reference tools.
Familiarity with ICD‑10‑CM and CPT coding guidelines and UAE regulatory coding standards.
