About the role

The Pastry Commis II supports the pastry team at a luxury hotel, preparing and cooking a variety of baked goods while adhering to strict quality and presentation standards. This entry‑level position involves handling ingredients, operating kitchen equipment, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook pastries and other foods according to recipes, quality guidelines, and presentation standards.
• Portion, chop, and store ingredients; operate baking tools, measuring equipment, and kitchen appliances safely.
• Monitor and record temperatures of food and equipment, reporting any issues to management.
• Maintain sanitation by washing, disinfecting work areas, and following cleaning procedures throughout the shift.
• Ensure compliance with food safety policies, personal hygiene standards, and company safety protocols.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Less than one year of related pastry or kitchen experience.
• Ability to lift, carry, and move objects up to 25 lb and work on varied surfaces.
• Willingness to follow uniform and appearance standards and maintain confidentiality.

Required skills
