Payroll Executive

About the role

The Payroll Executive will own end‑to‑end payroll processing for a workforce of over 1,000 employees in Abu Dhabi. The role ensures accurate, compliant and timely salary disbursement through the UAE Wages Protection System while supporting core accounting functions.

Key responsibilities

• Process the full monthly payroll cycle for 1,000+ employees, including salary calculations, deductions, overtime, leave and end‑of‑service settlements.
• Generate, submit and resolve any issues with WPS files in line with MOHRE requirements.
• Maintain payroll accuracy for new joiners, leavers, transfers and salary changes.
• Calculate and process gratuity, end‑of‑service benefits and final settlements according to UAE labour law.
• Reconcile payroll accounts, prepare journal entries and support month‑end / year‑end closing with the finance team.
• Handle employee payroll queries, resolve discrepancies promptly and maintain audit‑ready documentation.
• Produce payroll reports, cost‑center allocations and variance analysis for management.
• Stay up‑to‑date with UAE labour law and WPS regulatory changes and adjust processes accordingly.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on payroll experience processing payroll for 1,000+ employees.
• Strong knowledge of the UAE Wages Protection System (WPS) and related compliance.
• Solid accounting background with experience in journal entries, reconciliations and month‑end support.
• Good understanding of UAE labour law, including gratuity, leave salary and end‑of‑service obligations.
• Currently residing in the UAE and able to start within one month.
