Performance Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Performance Engineer to provide technical expertise across all Flight Operations performance areas. The role supports aircraft performance, weight and balance, engine‑out procedures, documentation, and the optimisation of fuel consumption and operating costs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical advice and assistance on all aspects of aircraft performance engineering.
• Contribute to performance documentation, customisation, revision and production of manuals and support material.
• Monitor, update and validate regulated performance data for take‑off, en‑route and landing, including airport databases.
• Design, validate and implement engine‑out procedures and assess related NOTAMs.
• Maintain and configure electronic performance tools such as Airbus performance tools and the LIDO Flight Planning system.
• Research and apply methods to reduce weight penalties from landing performance.
• Ensure flight planning system data complies with civil aviation authority regulations, ICAO procedures and airline policies.
• Identify operational limitations (NOTAMs, navigation facilities, ATF, MEL) and propose remedial solutions.
• Support weight and balance activities, including AHM560/565 data, load and trim sheet production, and in‑service modification calculations.
• Assist with Electronic Flight Bag system updates and troubleshoot related issues.
• Review obstacle charts and conduct airport feasibility studies.

Required profile

• Proven experience in aircraft performance engineering within an airline or flight operations environment.
• Familiarity with civil aviation regulations, AIP, NOTAMs and MEL requirements.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to develop technical guidance for crew and dispatch.
