Petrophysics Specialist

About the role

The Petrophysics Specialist will lead advanced petrophysical analyses to characterize reservoirs and assess extraction potential for ADNOC’s upstream projects. Working closely with geologists, geophysicists and reservoir engineers, the role bridges core data, seismic interpretation and well‑log information to improve subsurface understanding.

Key responsibilities

• Perform acoustic, nuclear, resistivity and NMR logging to acquire high‑quality subsurface data.
• Design and execute formation testing and sampling programs, ensuring data accuracy and reliability.
• Integrate core and seismic data for comprehensive reservoir characterization.
• Analyse petrophysical uncertainties and provide risk‑mitigation recommendations.
• Prepare detailed technical reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintain quality standards for log acquisition, processing and interpretation.
• Stay current with emerging petrophysical tools, software and methodologies.
• Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geophysics, Petroleum Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum five years of hands‑on experience in petrophysical analysis and reservoir characterization within the oil and gas sector.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
