Pharmacist – Hospital Pharmacy Leadership

About the role

The Pharmacist will lead the pharmacy team in ensuring safe, efficient medication distribution in compliance with UAE laws and hospital standards. The role combines clinical review, patient counseling, and inventory management within a hospital setting.

Key responsibilities

• Review physician orders, verify appropriateness of drug therapy, and dispense medications according to prescriber intent.
• Monitor patient medication profiles to prevent interactions, allergies, and adverse reactions.
• Provide drug information to prescribers, nurses, and patients, and conduct patient education on medication use.
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff, ensuring proper labeling, storage, and controlled‑drug documentation.
• Maintain medication stock levels, conduct inventory counts, manage expiries, and coordinate inter‑hospital transfers.
• Document incident reports, adverse drug reactions, and generate controlled‑drug reports per Ministry of Health regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy with a current Dubai Health Authority (DHA) license.
• Minimum three years of experience in a hospital or clinic pharmacy.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English; Arabic is a plus.
• Strong organizational, time‑management, and confidentiality practices.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP pharmacy systems and general computer applications.
• Ability to accurately input medication orders and manage electronic medication profiles.
