Physical Therapist

About the role

American Hospital Dubai is seeking a qualified Physical Therapist to deliver comprehensive physiotherapy services to in‑patients. The role involves assessing patients, creating individualized care plans and applying a range of therapeutic techniques to improve mobility and reduce pain.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct initial and follow‑up patient assessments, including GCS, vital signs, ROM, MMT and pain scoring.
• Develop and implement physiotherapy treatment plans using modalities such as cryotherapy, heat therapy, manual therapy, TENS, ultrasound and gait training.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists and other multidisciplinary team members to align patient goals.
• Provide clinical and technical support to junior therapists, assistants and student interns.
• Ensure equipment safety, perform regular calibration checks and manage inventory of physiotherapy supplies.
• Participate in quality‑improvement initiatives and report incidents or complaints as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy or Physical Therapy and a valid DHA licence.
• Minimum two years of post‑qualification experience as a Physical Therapist.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.

Required skills

• Cryotherapy and heat therapy application.
• Manual therapy, massage therapy and therapeutic exercises.
• Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) and interferential therapy.
• Ultrasound and mechanical traction therapy.
• Gait training and lymphatic edema therapy.
• Patient assessment tools: GCS, vital signs, ROM, MMT, VAS/FLACC.
