Pipeline Welding and NDT Inspector

About the role

The Pipeline Welding and NDT Inspector will work on pipeline projects in Abu Dhabi, ensuring that welding and non‑destructive testing (NDT) activities meet international codes and client specifications. Reporting to the Team Leader, the role involves close interaction with clients, project managers and technical managers.

Key responsibilities

• Review and verify vendor/manufacturer documents against purchase orders, material specifications and relevant codes.
• Conduct material receiving inspections for permanent project material supplied by EPC contractors.
• Witness, verify and endorse welding procedures and welder qualifications.
• Review and approve Inspection & Test Plans, material certificates, welding procedures and NDT works.
• Monitor, inspect and approve post‑weld heat treatment (PWHT) and all radiographic/NDT reports.
• Sign off weld/NDT logs and witness hydrostatic and pneumatic testing.
• Inspect surface preparation, painting and insulation works.
• Ensure compliance with material control, preservation and storage procedures.

Required profile

• CSWIP 3.1 or AWS CWI certification with at least 5 years of experience after certification (or equivalent).
• ASNT Level 2 certification in RT, MT, PT and UT with at least 3 years of practical experience.
• Diploma (3 years) with >12 years or Bachelor’s degree (4 years) with >10 years of industrial QA/QC experience in pipeline welding and NDT.
• Minimum 8 years (Diploma) or 6 years (Bachelor) of oil & gas experience.
• Training in Site Safety Induction, H2S, and HSE Induction for specific projects.
