Piping Helper – Support Fitters & Welders

About the role

The Piping Helper will work closely with pipe fitters and welders on fabrication, installation and erection projects across oil & gas, petrochemical and EPC sites. The role involves assisting with material handling, alignment, and basic preparation tasks to ensure smooth workflow on site.

Key responsibilities

• Assist pipe fitters and welders during fabrication, installation and erection activities.
• Handle, shift, load and unload pipes, fittings, valves and related materials.
• Support pipe alignment, fit‑up, preparation and installation as directed by the foreman.
• Perform basic tasks such as cleaning, grinding, cutting assistance, deburring and material preparation.
• Install pipe supports, clamps, brackets and other components.
• Prepare work areas, tools and materials for daily piping activities.
• Support rigging operations for moving and positioning piping materials.
• Maintain housekeeping and safe access around work zones.
• Assist with dismantling, reinstatement, hydro‑testing, flushing and pre‑commissioning activities.

Required profile

• Basic education or vocational training preferred.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical/piping work is an advantage.
• 1–3 years experience as a Piping Helper on Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery or EPC projects.
• Previous experience supporting pipe fitters and welders is preferred.
• Willingness to work in remote locations as required.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely.
• Capability to work outdoors under varying weather conditions.
• Strong problem‑solving, teamwork and communication skills.
