Planning & Cost Specialist

About the role

Wood is seeking a Planning & Cost Specialist to support its Oil, Gas & New Energies projects in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on cost control, estimation, invoicing and variation management across FEED, PMC and EPC contracts, ensuring financial discipline throughout project lifecycles.

Key responsibilities

• Develop contractual requirements for cost control, estimation and invoicing and embed them in tender documents.
• Evaluate technical bids for compliance, issue clarifications and prepare technical evaluation reports.
• Analyse contractor variation requests, produce counter‑estimates and recommend approvals.
• Prepare AFE/AFOU documentation for ongoing projects and secure management sign‑off.
• Coordinate with Project Control Managers to enforce project control procedures and correct cost coding.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of experience (approximately 180 months) in cost engineering, estimation or project controls within the oil & gas sector.
• Strong understanding of FEED, PMC and EPC contract structures.
• Proven ability to analyse complex cost data and present clear recommendations to senior management.
