Planning Engineer – Civil & MEP

About the role

We are seeking experienced Planning Engineers specialized in Civil and MEP disciplines to support the delivery of high‑rise and complex construction projects in Abu Dhabi. The role involves developing, maintaining and controlling project schedules across engineering, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning and hand‑over phases.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed baseline, recovery and updated project programmes in line with contractual requirements.
• Prepare Level 3 and Level 4 schedules covering all project activities.
• Monitor progress against approved schedules, identify delays, constraints and critical activities.
• Perform critical‑path analysis and recommend corrective and mitigation actions.
• Produce weekly and monthly progress updates, including S‑curves, manpower histograms, productivity reports and delay analysis.
• Coordinate closely with Project Managers, Construction Managers, Engineering, Procurement, Commercial, QS and site teams.
• Review subcontractor programmes and ensure alignment with the master schedule.
• Support preparation of recovery programmes, acceleration plans and catch‑up schedules.
• Assist the contracts team with programme data for extensions of time, delay analysis and claims.
• Participate in progress meetings and provide accurate schedule forecasts.

Required profile

• Minimum 96 months (8 years) of planning experience on high‑rise towers, multi‑storey buildings and large‑scale civil or MEP projects.
• Demonstrated experience in structural, architectural, façade, external works and infrastructure interfaces for civil planning.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire protection, ELV/BMS and related long‑lead equipment for MEP planning.
• Proven ability to work with multidisciplinary teams and manage complex schedule interactions.
