Planning Engineer – Civil Projects

About the role

The Planning Engineer will develop and manage implementation strategies for new civil projects, ensuring that schedules, resources, and progress are accurately monitored and controlled. You will work closely with consultants, contractors, and internal teams to drive timely project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and improve planning, scheduling, and progress‑measurement systems.
• Review and advise on project execution strategies, logic, duration, and implementation modes.
• Ensure contracts contain appropriate planning and scheduling provisions.
• Prepare planning formats for tender documents and participate in technical bid evaluations.
• Monitor consultants’ and contractors’ schedules, progress reports, S‑curves, and bar charts.
• Identify critical activities, assess impacts, and recommend corrective actions.
• Validate weekly and monthly progress reports and calculate time‑impact change requests.
• Analyse work‑progress trends, flag potential issues, and propose mitigation plans.
• Attend regular progress review meetings and produce executive status reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
• Minimum 6 years of planning and scheduling experience on major building or civil projects.
• Strong understanding of project controls, contract management, and progress reporting.
