Planning Engineer – Construction Projects

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Planning Engineer to join our Abu Dhabi team. You will support the planning and execution of construction projects, working closely with project managers and site teams to ensure schedules are accurate and milestones are met.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project schedules using Primavera or similar planning software.
• Review and analyse procurement and construction programmes for contractors and subcontractors.
• Prepare progress reports, graphs, and critical‑path analyses for weekly and monthly updates.
• Monitor actual progress against the construction programme and report deviations to senior management.
• Identify project risks and opportunities and propose mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with site supervision teams to gather real‑time progress updates.
• Conduct independent site visits to evaluate contractor performance against the schedule.
• Support evaluation of additional works and variation proposals.
• Maintain detailed records for claim evaluation and dispute resolution.
• Participate in workshops and meetings to facilitate communication among stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• 8+ years of experience in roads construction or related works.
• Proficiency in Primavera or comparable project‑management software.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies and best practices.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• High attention to detail.
