Planning Engineer – Power & Water Transmission Projects

About the role

The Planning Engineer will oversee project planning, scheduling, and progress reporting for large‑scale power and water transmission projects in Abu Dhabi. This PMC role involves strategic planning, resource management, and collaboration with multiple supervision consultants and EPCs.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain Primavera P6 schedules, including baselines, updates, recovery/acceleration plans, and what‑if scenarios.
• Develop activity coding structures aligned to WBS/OBS, calendars, and resource/cost loading principles.
• Perform logic checks, critical path analysis and near‑critical path monitoring.
• Implement progress measurement systems (earned value, physical progress curves) and prepare weekly/monthly planning reports.
• Generate dashboards and visuals using Power BI to track SPI/CPI trends, milestone heatmaps, and risked dates.
• Coordinate with cost engineers to cost‑load schedules and produce time‑phased cash flows.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Minimum 5 + years of experience in planning engineering or a similar role.
• Proven experience with Primavera P6 and Power BI.

Required skills

• Primavera P6 EPPM/Professional (calendars, resources, activity coding, baselining).
• Power BI (data import/transform, DAX measures, KPI visualisation).
• Advanced Excel (pivot tables, charts, lookups, what‑if analysis).
• SharePoint for data collaboration.
